HOTELS: Drawing on our years of experience we have chosen and used the same hotels for many, many years. Their location helps us to maximize our Israel experience. They are great hotels that on a scale of 1 to 10 our former traveler’s give a 9.6 rating.
MEALS: Meals included in the cost of the trip consist of buffet breakfasts at our hotels each day, two special event evening meals and two lunch picnics. On other days, Lunch and Dinner are the responsibility of each traveler. We eat in restaurants with the Israelis so that you experience the culture of Israel and one evening we dine with Rabbi Meir, Ron and Becky’s neighbor when they lived in Israel. And how is the food? It’s great, very similar to our diet here in the US in many ways yet with a touch of the Middle East available to experience. Our former traveler’s rave about the great food!
INSURANCE: Optional Travel Health Insurance for the trip is available for purchase. Policy provisions are outlined in a brochure you will receive when you register. Also, your current health insurance should be checked for coverage abroad. This is not trip cancellation insurance. If you desire trip cancellation insurance we recommend that you purchase such coverage through a third party vendor.

You'll never be the Same!
What’s so special about our trips?
-
Our tour is 16 days! That’s six days longer than most trips, and it costs about the same as most 10-day trips!!
-
We limit our groups to no more than 18 persons per trip, this helps us experience and see more of Israel than almost any other tour.
-
We conduct four pre-trip classes before we leave for Israel. By the time we leave for Israel, you’ll have gained valuable information that will serve to greatly enhance you time in Israel.
-
You will receive a Tour Book designed by your hosts, Ron and Becky Reynolds that will prove to be a valuable tool while you are in Israel.
-
Ron Reynolds, you host knows Israel inside and out and will not only provide you with great teaching on the trip, but will afford you the opportunity to ask questions at any time. His passion for the land, the people of Israel and the Word of God combine to give you an experience you would rarely gain with any other tour.
-
We eat with the Israelis, in their restaurants!
-
We have dinner with a Rabbi.
-
We experience the whole country, North to South, East to West; we go to places other tours just don’t go and see things other tours just don’t see. You’ll not only gain vast insights to ancient Israel and the Word of God, you’ll also learn about modern Israel and its history. We see more in a day than most tours see in two days.
-
You will experience new and exciting insights into the life and ministry of Jesus Christ and the Word of God.
-
Your trip will also help you to gain a new understanding of ancient and modern Israel and its history.
WALKING IN ISRAEL: All tours to Israel require walking, usually more walking than the traveler imagines. We suggest you prepare yourself by beginning a walking routine well before you leave for Israel. Israel is a land of hills, so it’s not like walking around your neighborhood. It's important to note that our tours walk up to 4 miles per day mostly on uneven ground and steps. Our travelers have included people ages 13 to 91. (the 91-year-old was in great shape physically!!)
Israel Travel Tips
-
How should I pack? Dress is very casual throughout the tour. Be sure to take comfortable, sturdy, walking shoes, sunscreen, sunglasses, a sun hat, a swimming suit, and a sweater or jacket for cool evenings. Comfortable layers of “mix and match” make a successful tour wardrobe. All passengers should wear modest outfits with shoulders and knees covered for touring religious sites (40% of the time). Feel free to bring shorts, as they can be worn several places, especially for the warmer southern areas of Israel. Each evening you can check the next day’s itinerary your Israel Tour Book so that you know in advance when shorts are not appropriate.
-
What travel documents do I need? You will need a passport that expires at least six months after your return date. No visa is needed to travel to Israel.
-
Do I need an electrical adapter? Yes. The electrical voltage is 220v in ALL places the tour visits. If your appliance says “dual voltage,” 110–220v, or “worldwide voltage,” you need only adapt the plug. For plug adapter or voltage converter, we recommend Wal-Mart, Best Buy, or a travel/luggage store. Computers are available most evenings for downloading camera pictures and emailing. But if you decide to bring your own, remember to check the voltage of and provide a plug adapter for your phone and computer, as well as personal grooming devices.
-
Do we need any shots? No inoculations are needed.
-
Will I be assigned a roommate on the tour? If you have not designated a specific roommate on your registration form, we will strive to assign a compatible roommate based on the information you provide on your application. Please note that if a compatible roommate cannot be found, you will be responsible for paying the additional single supplement noted on your registration form.
-
How much money should I take along? We recommend taking at least $300 in cash per person. Credit cards can be used at almost all restaurants and at many gift shops. You will have opportunity to exchange your US dollars for Israeli shekels when we arrive at the airport in Israel.
-
How do I carry prescription medicine? Keep it in its original bottle with label, if possible. Otherwise, label it plainly. Please be sure to pack prescription medicine in your carry-on luggage; if it contains liquid, it needs to go in your checked luggage.
-
What is the time difference? Israel is seven hours ahead of U.S. Eastern Time zone. That means, if it is 7 a.m. in Grand Rapids, Michigan, it's 2 p.m. in Israel.
-
Can I keep my valuables in my room? Will they be safe there? There is a safe in most hotel rooms.
-
Do we have to be careful about what we eat and drink? Public health standards at our tour locations are equal to those in the United States. The water is completely safe to drink. The food is excellent throughout the tour.
-
What if there is an emergency? How can my family get in touch with me and how can I call home? While in Israel your tour host will carry a cell phone and will provide you with the number needed by loved ones in the event they need to contact you. There is no cost for us to receive their calls while in Israel although those calling should first check with their carrier as to the charges they will incur in making calls to Israel. Our cell phone is available for use by our travelers too call the US, there is a $.50 per minute charge for such calls.
-
Is there a number I can call to get further information? Yes, call Ron Reynolds at (616) 334-7085 and he will be glad to help you. You may leave a message on his answering service if Ron is not available.
